Ia ora na everybody!

Miracle of the week. I got transfered! I am now serving at an island named Tahaa which is located some miles North-West of Tahiti just above the island of Raiatea. Fun fact, the word tahaa in tahitian means naked. So I'm serving at naked island. Luckily the naked colonies here are a thing of the past.  My new companion is a Tahitian named Elder Firuu and he is super cool. There are 4 missionaries total at Tahaa and I am the district leader here. This is a biking sector and seeing that the island is split in two and is a gigantic island we will be doing some massive amounts of biking here (something like 30 miles a day on average). This should help me lose any weight I may have gained while I was in a car at Moorea. Seeing that this is my second day here I don't really know the sector but from how my companion has described the sector this will be something similar to my experience at Rurutu. Not tons of investigator, tons of Protestants, a lot of the lessons are in Tahitian, unlimited biking, no hot water; I'm soaking up the island life right now.

From what I have heard its a branch here with about 60 active members, so the goal is to turn this branch into a ward. I'm really excited to be forced to use my Tahitian again because that seems to be the only way I can effectively improve my speaking capacities. I don't have any crazy stories yet but I'm sure within the next couple weeks I'll have some good ones. I haven't had the chance to get some good pictures here but I'll send the pics of Tahaa next week. That is my little update for now. I'm out here on this island working hard to build the kingdom of God. Everyone in America enjoy your hot water.

My birthday cake. My ward mission leader has the same birthday as me so we celebrated together.

We went with the sister missionaries to the local juice factory to taste test some juices. Mango is the best!

We went on a hike for P-day. At the top we met a famous US athlete. She ran for the US in the Olympics.   I don't know who she is though...  her name starts with "Tia" I think

 Enjoy the view!

Ia ora na everybody!
This week I will hit my year mark so I thought it would be a good opportunity to write a little blog post. So some cool things that happened this past week.
Our investigator, Herehau, got baptized this last Saturday at last and I got to baptize her. This was a very momentous occasion because she has been pushing her date back for a while now and she was just scared of what would happen with her family relationships but through faith she was finally able to overcome her fear and be baptized. And her non-member parents came to her baptism and really felt the spirit. We have been hearing from some of the parents friends that they are asking about baptism and other peoples' conversion stories, so they seem to really have been affected by the spirit. So that is a miracle right there.

And for p-day we did a district activity and hiked a little mountain named Magic Mountain. We got some pretty sweet pics too. This was a district activity to mark the last p-day of Sister Johnson and the year mark for all the missionaries that came in at the same time as me. This week we were able to play soccer to contact some investigators and I got to work on my p-day tan lines which that was marvelous (RMs you know what I'm talking about). Overall a good week. I see tons of blessings that Heavenly Father grants me and others. I know He is there and loves each and every one of us. I hope everyone has the time to stop and look around at all the blessings that God gives us every day. We are all super blessed! I hope everyone has an awesome week. I'm outta time for this week but until next time

The district reached the summit. We contacted some tourists while we were up there too.

We might have thought we were in Brazil for a second
Me just chillin in my natural state

It’s been a while but I promise I am still alive and well. I am currently serving at Moorea, that hasn't changed, and my companion is now a Tahitian named Elder Teahuotonga. He is 23 years old and has been on his mission 17 months. Elder Palombo is now serving at the island Raiatea. Elder Tonga (everyone calls him Elder Tonga because his name is long and hard to pronounce) is a good, dedicated missionary that really likes to have a good time. I have laughed harder with him than I have ever laughed on my whole mission. We get along really well and have some good visions for the missionary work here at Moorea.
And some interesting things that have happened since the last post: we baptized a 14 year old named Tinihau which was a miracle because at first his parents weren't OK with him getting baptized but after about two months of taking lessons he was able to talk to his parents and bear them his testimony which softened their hearts and let him get baptized. So now we are teaching his parents and his sister and they all want to get baptized but don't have a testimony yet. So thanks to Tinihau's testimony and example the rest of his family will join the church, which is a pretty cool miracle. Also this Sunday, June 29th we will get a new mission president. His name is President Bise and he is French but has lived in America for 20 years. It will be interesting to see the difference in leadership through the change of culture. And I want France to win the world cup. And mom, I promise we don't watch the games.
And a shout out to my brother who just got his mission call to the Bolivia, Santa Cruz mission in South America. Super proud of him. Have an excellent week and I love you all.

And this is my favorite dish in French Polynesia. Sashimi! (Raw red tuna with some magic sauce that tastes great) And local mangos drink. I'm pretty sure this meal exists in heaven.

This is Tinihau. He is 15 years old. He was baptised Saturday, June 14th. One of the most powerful testimonies I have ever heard from a new convert. He plans to serve a mission when he turns 18. I love my mission.

 Posin' with a tiki dude
And here is a recent picture of me enjoying a good view at the local Hilton hotel

And we got to take a tour inside the Hilton bungalows on the water. They have a glass window in the floor so we all stood on it for this picture
